Basically the equivalent of White Castles in the midwest. Oh yes. Anyway, since I had the grave misfortune of working there for about a week or so I looked around their computer in the office while nobody was looking! All the Krystals franchises have puters that are called KRYNET which is somewhat ironic cause they are not connected through ANY x.25 network or nothing like that that I could see.. Nope! The whole thing runs SYSTEM V and very few of the bugs seem to be patched from my observation. It's really an unremarkable system except for the fact that you can change the rate of pay for the employees... and pretty much anything else you could do in a standard sys v. The way to identify a krystalnet system is (doh) by the logon sequence.. It's really easy to tell you about cause it will greet you with: krynet!login: This is the really easy part, I have found three of these systems. Two local and one long distance from here. On every single one I have experienced the same default. This default login is: areamgr and the password is also areamgr once you are in you will get the standard Sys V thing. At the # prompt type su root *[ Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that you can not log on as root, but they left it unpassworded.. st00pid]* *[In case you didn't know *[[and I don't see why you wouldn't]]* su changes users in unix]* and once you've got the eleet root prompt and you get that special feeling that only that $ can give, there are a couple programs that you can run. The only program I will go into at this time is the one that pretty much runs the employees information. This program is known as empman and can only be run by root. Once you are in empman you can change the hours or pay of any employee. Upon loading, it will prompt you with a question ST#?: That means the store number, you can just call up Krystals and ask them the store number. They will be more than happy to give it to you. Once that is entered it will offer you a menu system that looks a whole lot like PICO. The program is really easy to follow and will tell you what to do with it. Do not! make your friends pay $16.00/hr they will know that something is up.. you can raise it like 1.00, but if you do you will have to raise all on the same pay level. Once you are done with the program, you need to hit ^D (Ctrl-D) to call up the modem to call the main system somewhere. It just runs a script, when it is done it will exit the program.
